Astronomy with a verifiable basis

We calculate lunar phases and geocentric planetary positions with Astronomy Engine 2.1.19. Daily readings refer to noon in Europe/Amsterdam, including seasonal clock changes. Event times use the same time zone. Zodiac positions use twelve equal tropical sectors of 30 degrees, rather than the IAU constellations. Moon illustrations show a schematic phase, not local sky orientation or visibility.

The 49 primary lunar phases of 2027 were independently compared with U.S. Naval Observatory data. The largest difference was approximately 73 seconds. Event times are therefore displayed to the minute.

Quality checks and sources

Automatic checks review article dates, language, sections, completeness, minimum length and repeated paragraphs. These checks do not imply human review of every sentence. Historical events and birthdays use separately verified institutional sources linked beside each item. Translations preserve these sources and qualifications.
